Juice

Little Juice the kitten was found on a main road outside a temple, where we think he had been newly abandoned. Dogs were worrying the poor kitten, who then made a bid for safety up SCAD Operations Manager Matt's leg. Juice was so affectionate and very well socialised that we hoped we would be able to find a home for him quickly.

Khun Yai

Khun Yai, meaning 'Grandmother' in Thai, came to SCAD during the recent flood crisis; she was one of the remaining animals left behind at the Maen Sii shelter by owners who no longer wanted her, and so SCAD took her into our care. One of Khun Yai's eyes had to be surgically removed due to a severe infection which was causing her a lot of pain. Her remaining eye also has very little sight left in it.

Despite her lack of good vision, Khun Yai manages to get around very well and her sense of smell compensates for her eyes. All black cat Khun Yai is a lovely old lady cat who is extremely gentle and needs a good retirement home, where she can enjoy her last years in a peaceful environment where she gets lots of attention! She loves cuddles, fishy foods and head rubs!

Brownie

Adult sponsorship cat Brownie is a very pretty cat, with chocolate brown Siamese-look markings, with darker brown ears, nose and tail. Brownie is one of several cats and kittens who were handed over to SCAD after her owner was affected by the recent flooding in Bangkok and could no longer take care of many of her pets.

At some point in her life, Brownie suffered some neurological damage and although she functions perfectly well in daily activities, her walk can sometimes be a little ungainly and she does have a tendency to drool a little! Her eyes also sometimes look cross-eyed! Unfortunately, the damage cannot be reversed, but aside from a few physical quirks she is a normal, active cat.

Brownie is a very sweet and affectionate cat who would love a quiet home where she can relax, love and be loved. She is a very gentle cat who doesn’t’ demand attention but loves fuss when offered.

Meow LooLoo

Meow LooLoo (meaning 'cat with many holes' in Thai) was found at the SCAD Dog Center after being attacked by several dogs. She was severely injured and had large gaping wounds on her back and sides. After receiving emergency medical treatment, Meow LooLoo was kept at the vets until stable, when she then returned to SCAD where she has received ongoing care as her wounds are healing. She currently requires daily medical care, but is recovering steadily and we hope once fully healed she will find the loving home she deserves.

Lamai

Lamai is one of 18 cats who came to SCAD after being found during a CNR (Catch Neuter Return) project in the local area. All 18 of the cats were being kept together in a very small cage by a local lady, with inadequate food, no access to sunlight, non-existent medical care and 1 litter tray between them. After sterilizing all of the cats who were old enough, SCAD was reluctant to return the cats to such awful conditions, and after liaising with the carer of the cats, it was agreed that the best chance of a good future for Lamai was for her to enter the SCAD adoption program.

Hunter (adoption pending)

Hunter first came to SCAD in 2008 as a kitten. He had been attacked by a dog in the garden of a SCAD volunteer and was taken to the pet hospital for immediate treatment. He suffered from a mild trauma of the head but recovered well. As it was not safe to put him back where he came from he was brought to SCAD and admitted to our adoption program. With his wonderful personality and handsome looks, Hunter was quickly adopted. Hunter enjoyed a loving, caring relationship with his adopter for over two years. Unfortunately Hunter came back to us due to the dire personal circumstances of his adopter. After consulting with us, the adopter decided it was best for Hunter to come back to us to be re-homed. It was the last thing the adopter wanted to do, and it really was a last resort option. Fortunately, we had space for one adult cat so were in a position to help.

Hunter is now back in our adoption program and we hope he will get a second chance to find a forever home.

Samsii

Samsii was living at a school in central Bangkok. A lovely local lady (Cat Aunty) would go and feed Samsii and the other cats at the school. However she had not seen Samsii for a while and when she appeared she was emaciated and looked very unwell. A SCAD volunteer went down to the school as she was helping with a cat project there and when she went to pick up Samsii she noticed a very overpowering odour coming from her. Just when she was going to examine her further a huge abscess on Samsii’s rear burst. It was thought that she may have been attacked by a dog and had been bitten which became infected. Samsii was taken to the vet clinic for treatment and recovered with us here at SCAD. She was very shy and did not like to be touched but as she slowly recovered her personality changed and she became very friendly and playful. We decided to keep her for our adoption program due to her strong and determined character. Samsii was given her name by the local Cat Aunty due to her 3 colours.

Elvis

Elvis was picked through one of SCAD's Capture, Neuter, Return (CNR) projects. He was a little bit too young to be neutered so he we decided to keep him here at SCAD until he was older. However his warm and affectionate nature had already emerged and we could not put him back on the streets so he was put onto the adoption program.

Lize

Lize came to SCAD via one of our Capture, Neuter,Return (CNR) projects. She had complications during her spay surgery that resulted in temporary hind limb paralysis and later, a hernia. This somewhat feral cat has been through so much yet has taken it all with seldom a hiss, so we decided to keep her off the mean streets of Bangkok and find a loving home for her.

Owl

Owl came to us through one of our CNR projects. She was not in good shape as one of her eyes was swollen and oozing with a severe infection. We had our vet remove the eye and once she was recovered she changed from a nervous cat in pain to a very happy and affectionate cat. She has a winning personality -  now she's just waiting to find her winning home!
