SCAD (formerly Soi Dog Rescue) is a not-for-profit, mainly volunteer, organization operating in Bangkok, Thailand. SCAD’s main mission is to implement humane methods of stray animal population control through animal birth control programs and education. As a related part of this mission SCAD identifies puppies and dogs for inclusion in a local and overseas adoption program.
As a not-for-profit group, Soi Cat and Dog Rescue (SCAD) does not receive funds from any state or federal government agencies. SCAD is supported through donations from the public, income from ReTails ‘Pretty New’ Store in Bangkok, and funds/services provided by the SCAD founders and volunteers. The adoption fees are used solely to help offset the export/shipping fees & airfare from Bangkok to the USA for the dog you choose to adopt.
The dog / puppy that you adopt will have received age-appropriate vaccinations. All puppies, as well as some adults, might require further vaccinations, fecal exams and possibly worming medications. Medical records, if available, will be provided to you.
We cannot guarantee, nor can we be responsible for the health of the pets being adopted. Most of the pets under our foster care have come from unknown origins. While all dogs have been checked by a veterinarian, and every effort has been made to ensure the basic health of our dogs, some might be incubating diseases which are not readily apparent at the time of adoption. No monetary compensation will be given by SCAD in such cases.
Under no circumstances should a pet from SCAD Bangkok be sold, traded, or disposed of in any way. If you cannot continue to care for the dog/puppy, you should contact SCAD immediately and make every attempt possible to secure a loving, long-term alternative home for your pet.
