Date of Birth: September 2009 Edith and her brother Ernie were unceremoniously dumped onto the streets of Bangkok. They were picked up and brought to SCAD through one of our CNR projects. We were worried that they were not suited to life on the streets and their rumbunctious, playful nature and cute looks ensured they had a place in SCAD's adoption programme. Here's what Ryan had to say shortly after Edith arrived in the US in May 2010 - "Since her arrival she has been like a little shadow and follows Amy and I from room to room. Her nature is loving and sweet and on her first night she slept next to me on the couch and was a little snuggler. She is quickly making new friends with our Boston Terrier Dagny and everyone is stopping us on the streets to tell us how cute she is. Last night we took her out on our boat and gave her a tour of Washington D.C. from the water. In honor of her heritage we stopped at the Georgetown waterfront and ordered Thai food for dinner. Today I took her to our Vet where she received a clean bill of health and several treats for being such a good patient. Next week I am taking her to our second house in Cape Cod where we are walking distance to the beach and ocean. I am so excited to see how she likes the water and we also have a giant back yard for plenty of running and sniffing." Oh what a lucky dog and what a long way from a life on the tough streets of Bangkok, Thailand! |
