Felicity and Simon fostered Makharn from July 2010, initially to help her recover from surgery. After a couple of months they soon realised that they would never be able to give her up for adoption so they officially adopted this beautiful Burmese lookalike cat. Makharn will travel with them wherever they go - lucky Makharn!
Makharn's story: Makharm came to SCAD via one of our Capture, Neuter, Return (CNR) projects. Her deformed leg was quickly noticed by one of our staff who could not believe that she was able to live with her leg like that. Due to her leg injury, we were worried about sending her back to where she came from so we decided she would be safer with us at SCAD. Makharn's leg had fixed at a very awkward angle and she would never be able to use it so the decision was made to amputate. She soon recovered from her surgery and didn't seem to notice she now only had three legs. A beautiful cat, Makharn was also loving and friendly despite having such a bad start to her life. |
