Will I be my chosen animal's only sponsor?

No. The dog or cat whose progress you choose to follow as a Muttketeer Sponsor is one of only 10 or so animals that we select for our list of "sponsorable" animals. As such, many kind people may choose to sponsor the same one. The animals on our "sponsorable list" are purely representative of the hundreds of animals that we care for each year.

Does all my sponsorship money go to my chosen cat or dog?

No. The best part about our Muttketeer Programme is that ALL the cats and dogs in our care benefit from the money raised through sponsorship. They may not all be handsome or even friendly - and you may never get the chance to know them - but we believe they all deserve the best we can offer while they are in our care. Your sponsorship is pooled with other sponsorship funds and helps us to achieve this. Hence our Muttketeer motto is "All for one? No, Some for All!"

The dog/cat I am sponsoring requires medical treatment. What happens when they complete their medical treatment?

Once your sponsored cat/dog finishes treatment, you will be notified and offered new options so you can continue being a "Muttketeer Sponsor", helping ALL the deserving dogs and cats in our care.

Whilst it is our wish to place each and every dog/cat who recovers following treatment into a loving home, some prove to be socially inadaptable to new surroundings and are happier being returned to their home communities when they are fit enough.

For those animals that can adjust well to a new life, SCAD works diligently to find them a loving, permanent home once they are well enough, and they will remain in our care until that time.

What happens if my sponsored cat/dog is adopted or returned to the community?

If your sponsored animal finds a forever home or is returned to its original territory, SCAD promptly notifies you and offers you the choice of another sponsorable cat or dog whose progress you can delight in following.

Can I give a sponsorship as a gift?

Yes, sponsorships make fabulous gifts and are always gratefully received. Send a message to our sponsorship coordinator with the name, address and email of the recipient of your gift sponsorship, and the Muttketeer Certificate can be made out in their name and mailed direct to them. They will then get email updates of their sponsor animals according to the package selected.

What happens to monies in excess of my sponsored animal's needs?

As your sponsorship money goes to help EVERY animal (well and unwell, newly arrived or living permanently) at our health centre, and given that there are over 300,000 street dogs and 500,000 feral cats in Bangkok, there are never any excess funds. All funds will be used to continually help more animals.

Can I visit my sponsor animal?

Yes, this is normally possible unless the animal is quarantined. Decision is taken by our vet and Health Centre General Manger on a case by case basis. Please liaise with our sponsorship coordinator on this matter.

What happens if I need to cancel my subscription before the minimum 6-months period is up?

If you used Siam Pay for a monthly subscription, you will have to cancel it yourself and notify us immediately of the cancellation. If you donated in any way as a lump some to cover 6 months in advance, then this is not refundable. If you make monthly credit card payments or ATM deposits (in Thailand), then we would appreciate your notifying us of your cancellation.
