Date of Birth/Age: Approximately 2001 Gender: Male Species: Dog Breed: Mixed Weight: 25 kg Background: A SCAD supporter noticed this gentle old man one day and took in Makharm (which means “tamarind” in Thai) after seeing what terrible condition he was in. He was found with barely a hair on his body and a nasty tumor on his shoulder. Initial treatment included being neutered, vaccinated and having the tumor surgically removed. He responded very well to treatment and is now in excellent health for a dog of his age! Features: Makharm is a large black and white dog with a short, thick coat that requires minimal grooming. Although he doesn’t stand very tall, he has a long, solid body. His head and ears are soft and fluffy making him very nice to cuddle. He has lovely grey eyebrows and very expressive eyes which give him an “old man’ kind of look. He is a true gentle giant. Character: Makharm is a placid, relaxed dog who spends the day watching the world go on around him. However, he also has a very playful side to him and can often be seen flinging toys into the air, pawing other dogs encouraging them to play, and running around the legs of the table playing hide and seek. Get the leash ready for a walk and he is instantly on! He loves his walks and nudges you to the gate if you take too long to get ready. His arthritic hips and legs mean that he can’t do anything strenuous, but he loves to swim and take regular, gentle walks. He gets on very well with other dogs, and is great with puppies, but is also just as happy to spend time on his own in a patch of sunshine. Makharm is not suited to a home with cats. He is house trained, very polite and would suit a quiet home, with a nice soft bed and a daily walk or two. Location: Health: Neutered: Vaccinated: Ready to Depart: |
